For the first time since we learned the word “Coronavirus,” Flag Star is re-opening “league-play” for Spring 2021. The rules will be different (no blocking!) and the kids will look different (masks required!), but the heart and soul of this operation is unchanged.
Families who aren’t yet comfortable with a league format should explore our Pod Options HERE. Pods are self-contained groups that will not practice or play with anyone outside of their own members.
For everyone else, we are going to - very cautiously, very intentionally - bring a league back to life. There will be any number of necessary adjustments, but we know this community team is up to the task.

WHO: Pre-formed groups of 6-12 kids. K - 10th Grade.
WHAT: Weekly sessions of skills, drills and (potentially) scrimmaging (based on group preference**). 8 weeks total (beginning the week of April 5th).
For the foreseeable future, we are requiring all players to wear masks during these sessions. Based off member preference, pods may either a) scrimmage amongst each other or b) remain distanced at all times. That is a pod-by-pod decision.
WHEN: Weekdays and Weekends. Sessions start the week of April 5th, and will run through the week of May 31st (with the 2nd week of June as our rain-out option). We will be OFF on Memorial Day Weekend.
TIME: Your Call! Most weekday pods will run from 3:30-5:00 or 5:30 - 7:00, but we also have coach availability earlier in the day if you’re available.
Weekends: 9:00-10:30am | 11:00am-12:30pm | 1:00-2:30pm | 3:00-4:30pm | 5:00-6:30pm
WHERE: The field/location is of your choosing. Field permits have been difficult to come by during covid (with many municipalities not issuing official permits), so most all of these pods have been informally planned at neighborhood parks or fields of your choosing. As with everything during Covid, this requires us to make a plan … and react accordingly.
We apologize this isn’t a “cleaner” solution, but we’ve managed to find a location for every single one of our pods thus far. And we’ll always work and adapt and adjust to find a field solution. .
WHY: If you’ve read this far, you already know.

In the meantime, here’s a look at our general camp plan. The only thing not captured here is just the general energy of this camp operation.
That’s a product of having great coaches who love being there. We’re learning and playing and talking and team-building. And HAVING FUN BECAUSE IT’S THE SUMMER AND IT’S FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP.
We’re constantly tweaking the camp plan, but here’s what an average day looks like for us:
9:00 - 9:45: Passing Drills. Right out of the gate, we’re getting our work in! Campers start each day by throwing/catching a ridiculous number of passes. And working on a specific skill.
9:45 - 10:00: Team Huddle. Campers huddle/hydrate while our coaches tell/give the story/value of the day. In as human and relevant and entertaining a way as possible… we’re talking values!
10:00 - 10:45: Practice/Drill Sessions/Camp Competitions
10:45 - 11:15: Water and Team Practice
11:15 - 12:15: Game #1
12:15: Lunch and CHILL
12:50: Dodgeball/Sharks and Minnows/Ultimate Football/Somekindafungame
1:30: Team Time
1:45 - 2:40: Game #2
2:40 - 3:00: Final Huddle/Break Down/Team Competition
